Why Don't People Fall Out of Roller Coasters When They Go Upside Down?

During my visit to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio I learned that amusement parks can be as educational as they are entertaining. I had the entire park to myself to conduct some amusement park themed experiments for "It's Not Magic, It's Science!" In addition to conducting the experiments I was able to ride a few of my favorite roller coasters and spend some time with the maintenance teams that help keep the rides running! During this incredible visit I realized that there numerous ways young people can be engaged in STEM at amusement parks that ignite their natural curiosity, grow their knowledge, and develop habits of learning.

This experience along with my personal love for roller coasters and amusement parks is why I was so excited to answer the Mystery Science question: Why don't people fall out of roller coasters when they go upside down?
